it has begun

training. for that crazy race.

this week i logged 44.5 miles. no wonder my legs feel sore today. of course it couldn't be the 13.3 miles i pounded out this morning.

no more lazy saturdays. so long going to yard sales and greasy french fries. no more friday night ice cream. no more cheesy pizza, fizzy soda. buh-bye toenails.

hello chaffing, blisters, worn out socks, major gas and intestinal issues, rocks in my shoes, energy drinks, gu, embarrassing tan lines, and feeling like a superhero.

i figure out how to do something else with my phone. isn't it amazing what an itty bitty phone can do now days?

spring snow is the best

if you have to have snow at all. what i mean is, we woke up to about 4 inches of pure slushy snow. the flowers were all face down, and the mountains were like a super thick birthday cake. at 4:30 this afternoon, there is hardly a skiff on the ground. the air looks clean and fresh, and the boys can enjoy being outside.

during winter, a 4 inch snowfall would hang around for a couple of days at least. during the spring, it's got a lifespan of about 8 hours. that is wonderful.

the only downside? snow. i have to keep reminding myself that it is ONLY april, and that it is quite common to experience plenty of snowfall. and given that we have had such a mild winter, we should expect a lot more snow than what we have. so that part does suck.

but the quick melt method of precipitation is lovely.
journal-ing our easter experience.

fires in the neighborhood, jimmy home from school

i have no memory as i was in bed all day

i was still sick

harry pukefest (and it really was. i have never seen a kid throw up so often)

harry home, still sick

easter egg hunt. we barely made it!
ran my 10 miles
conference sessions
big d got sick
my dad's surprise birthday dinner
shopping for easter basket goods
cleaned the house/laundry
stayed up late stuffing and then hiding eggs

dyed easter eggs
dyed easter dog
dinner at my sisters
played with sidewalk chalk
dumped bubble juice everywhere
gorged on chocolate

fussy never did come down with the sick, so we are counting our lucky stars.
